Many years ago I was told by a wise man that in this life time, I would assist in bringing back the old ‘Mother temples’ but I had no idea what he meant by that, back then. But what I did know is that I strongly felt/feel the longing for community, to spend time with sisters, to heal, to celebrate, to rest, play, laugh and cry, to envision the life we want for the world, for ourselves and for our children’s children. Not for a day, or a week but for at least a whole moon cycle.
And in doing so, plant the seeds for a world in peace, a world where the masculine and feminine cooperate to create paradise on Earth.

Is it a physical place, or just shared time on a regular basis with a circle of sisters?
Although I still have no idea how this temple space will eventually look like, our circle time together gave me some glimpses.

Ideally, I envision a retreat center in a power place in nature just for this cause but until that place has been manifested or been shown to me, I try to stay patient ;-) and trust that the how, where and what will be shown to us the coming months/years.

Hearing Christian talk about self-intimacy and how he chooses to nurture himself every morning to find balance between giving and receiving, a voice whispered “Morocco” in my ear, quite strongly this time and I decided no longer to resist and follow the calling…

Now I am in the South-Moroccan Sahara.
Between 2009 and 2014, I have organized journey’s in Morocco and to the desert but this time I felt a strong calling to come back, alone…

The desert, the land makes me feel at home.
Grateful for this gift of space and time to fill my cup, to listen to the whispering of my heart and well, just be…To connect to Source, fill the Well and in doing so, heal the desert landscapes in me so that eventually the desert landscape outside me will blossom again!

There is much more to tell, but that’s enough for now.

I am staying at a farm at the gate of the desert, just outside the town of M’Hamid. A simple but beautiful place called the ‘Source of life’ where in the past I used to work with my groups.

It’s a permaculture project launched by Madani, a nomad friend of mine, who has the big dream of creating an oasis (!) in the desert. The main difficulty he encounters is of course the lack of water; the water from the well is salty and so only few vegetables can grow in the garden.

He welcomes guests from all over the world to spend time in the desert, learn about his culture, exchange ideas and hopefully find long-term solutions on how to desalt the water. Also, by growing slowly into a self-sufficient farm, he hopes to serve as an example for the villagers and children of the future, so they don’t have to flee their birth place and nomad culture in order to find a better life (read: money). Check out his place here: www.chezmadani.com

Being here and hearing him talk about the challenges and hardships he encounters every day to stay truthful to his dream I feel called -again- to see if I can support his project. His bigger vision for the future is to create a place without money, with free exchange of talents, goods and resources but still in the process, money is still needed to bring the project to the next level.

As he doesn’t read nor write (he was a desert nomad until his 14th and never went to school), he has a hard time to compete with the professional tourist agencies so I promised him to try to find some people who would love to spend some time on his desert farm and support the project.

In order to develop the project, one of the things he urgently needs is a car (4x4). Now he’s doing everything by foot and using a donkey cart to transport for example drinkable water from town (3km) but that is very time consuming as you can imagine. Renting a 4x4 in town to transport visitors to the farm is very expensive for him (70 euro/day).

That’s how I came up with an idea, ‘a deal’, to cooperate - in order to support him but also to take a step in fulfilling my longing as well ;-)

If the plan stirs some longing in you as well, I would be happy if you want to be part of it as well!

What if we, a group of sisters, would rent his place for a month (fall 2017), share our abundance and together raise the money he needs. In return I would ask him for exclusive use of the place for our time together.

For a very old car that has been put for sale to him this week, he would need 3000 euro.

My vision is a kind of private crowdfunding campaign whereby every sister gives in the money she feels inspired to give.

Imagine 10 women giving each 300 euro for a retreat of a month.
Or 15, each 200. Or 5, each 600.

A fair price for a night at his place (meals included) would be 35 euro/day/person, so that would normally be a total of appr. 1050 euro for a month/person.

There are 8 simple cob rooms with 2 to 4 beds/matrasses each, with shared bathroom. Once we are here, we put in our share to buy food etc…(around 6-8 euro/p/day). Transport from Marrakech is not expensive (by bus or shared taxi) - max. 50 euro both ways. Trekking with camels in the desert is also an option. Count around 35 euro/day extra.

If together we reach our goal of minimum 3000 euro, we will confirm his place.

For now, I have two time frames (moon cycles) in mind:
new moon September 20th- new moon October 19th
new moon November 18th - new moon December 17th

Who feels the calling? Who’s heart starts singing with this idea?
Please let me know - asap and before April 5th- if you feel you want to be part of this nourishing and life changing experience together, which time frame would work best for you and how much you wish to donate.

If the period doesn’t work for you, but you want to suggest or donate for another period in the future, let me know as well…
Also… if a month is too long, let me know what would be possible…

If there is enough interest, I suggest working through my cultural association ‘The Singing Village’ at no additional cost to have everything official (the association will forward every euro donated to the project).

I then send the bank account to everybody participating. Once the donations are on the account, I then can forward the money to Madani to rent his place on an exclusive basis for our circle time.

If some of you prefer an official crowdfunding campaign, I’m fine with that, but keep in mind that a percentage will then have to go to the crowdfunding platform.

Thank you so much for listening to my story and hopefully being part of my dreams.
Looking forward reading you,
Love, Els

PS. If you know women who are familiar with Heart IQ and would ‘fit’ in our circle, feel free to forward the link. For now, I would like to keep this first invitation in the Heart IQ Family. If that wouldn’t work, then we can open up to other sisters in our network.
